It was all about the Bollywood queens of yesteryears at a theatre performance recently. And while Rekha's secret to remaining seeming-less age-less was on show, Waheeda Rehman and Asha Parekh both exuded grace.

Over 500 cycling enthusiasts of all ages and abilities took advantage of a great opportunity to enjoy a fun day out on Friday, participating in the 2nd annual Great Pulse Ride.
 

Jointly organized by the Dubai Sports Council and Promoseven Sports Marketing, the ride is another step in the ongoing drive to promote health and fitness throughout the community in a fun inclusive atmosphere.
 

 Two hundred of the more experienced cyclists rode a 96km loop, a further two hundred completed the 48km route, while the under 12s completed a 10km course at the Dubai Cycle Path, Al Qudra.

One lucky spectator at last night’s  epic Roger Federer/Novak Djokovic semi-final in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, left with not only memories of a spectacular game, but also with 2 tickets to the US Open, courtesy of the Emirates Ball Flight Promotion.
 

 

Following his win in the semi-final, Roger Federer hit four signed tennis balls into the crowd. Those lucky enough to catch one then came onto Centre Court and chose one of four model planes. One plane, which had congratulations written underneath it, won the holder two air tickets from Dubai to New York, and two semi-finals tickets for the US Open.

Competition was fierce at Yas Marina Circuit’s sold out event yesterday as more than 1,400 competitors took to the track to participate in Activelife by Daman 2014 TriYAS, with some of the fastest times ever seen in the TriYAS event.
 

UAE resident, Olivier Godart crossed the line the men’s Olympic race in an outstanding time of 1:52:46, beating rival Omar Nour of Egypt who finished in 1:54:20.

Third place in the top division went to Andy MacRae, who completed the race in 1:57:30.
Emirati competitors included Yousuf Al Sadi, who completed the Sprint race in 1:10:09, and Mohamed Al Muhari, who finished the Olympic race in 2:13:48.

Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor launched the first look of their movie ‘2 States’ in Mumbai.

‘2 states’ is based on a novel written under the same title by Chetan Bhagat.

Young 20-year old Alia will be seen as a young Tamilian girl who falls in love with a Punjabi boy and their journey from love to marriage overcoming all communal differences that come their way.

Some Bollywood personalities decided to hold a press conference to say how good a person the head of the Sahara group Subroto Roy is and how law abiding he is and how he is being targetted. 

some famous peersonalities from the industry like the much respected filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, singer Nitin Mukesh and the father of actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, singer Rahul Vaidya, actor Fardeen Khan, actor Johnny Lever and a motley bunch of film personalities.

 What was striking however was the fact that the big filmmakers and actors who have often hung around like bees around Roy were missing.

One can recall that stars and directors used to make a beeline to meet Roy when he was rich and flaunting his riches.

The Youtube Fanfest took place at Bandra, Mumbai over the weekend and King Khan who ostensibly commands the biggest fan base across the world among Bollywood stars was there

His daughter Suhana too was present there with friends and she stuck to her friends rather than mingling with her father

What was interesting was the fact that Varun Dhawan and his co star from the film 'Main Tera Hero' Nargis Fakhri was also present at the venue to promote their film

Varun was certainly turning film promotions on the head when he stood on his head for the same. We wondered if he was trying to download something after seeing him like that, considering it was a Youtube event!
