The 17-year-old reality TV star doesn't take the photo-sharing social media site too seriously and insists users need to realise the images that people post are part of an existence they want to portray.
In a post on Twitter, she contemplated: "Instagram is a made up world. I just show people what I want em to see. Doesn't everybody? (sic)"
In an earlier post Kylie was contemplating her life as a celebrity since she found fame with her family on 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians', and used a tweet to remind her followers she's not public property.

She posted: "The public doesn't know everything about me."
Perhaps the teenager has been in such a philosophical mood because she's been suffering from jet lag over the last week, meaning she's been awake in the small hours of the night.
She tweeted: "Been sleeping all day & now imma be up all night #jetlag (sic)"
Kylie - who is rumoured to be dating 25-year-old rapper Tyga - has a reputation for making racy and controversial posts on her social media accounts, but she isn't really very "wild" in real life.
A source recently said: "Kylie loves to feel sexy and post sexy things but she isn't that wild. She's so close with everyone that her sisters know what she's doing and who she's hanging out with."

Hamilton 'perfect' for Kendall?

Kris Jenner reportedly thinks Lewis Hamilton is "perfect" for her daughter Kendall.
The 59-year-old showbiz matriarch is said to be very keen to see the 19-year-old catwalk model - who attended the Monaco Grand Prix over the weekend - and Lewis get together.
An insider revealed: "She really wants Kendall to date him. Lewis and Kris have become friendly in recent months and she thinks he's perfect for her daughter."

Kris is apparently eager for her daughter to date the 30-year-old World Champion because he would be a "good influence", while his profile would also help boost Kendall's career.
The source told The Sun newspaper: "Kendall usually goes for bad boys like Chris Brown and Justin Bieber so Lewis could be a good influence on her.
"She really enjoyed being in Monaco with Lewis, who personally invited her. And of course any relationship would be a profile boost for her."
The suggestion comes shortly after it was claimed Lewis had started seeing 20-year-old fashion model and TV personality Gigi Hadid, after the duo were spotted spending time together during the recent Cannes Film Festival.
An insider said: "They've been on a couple of dates. It's on!"
Kendall snubbed by Hollywood

Kendall Jenner was reportedly snubbed by movie producers at the Cannes Film Festival because of the 'stigma' of her family name.
The 19-year-old model has been overlooked for potential film roles in favour of fellow model Gigi Hadid because of her links to the Kardashian family.
A source explained: "Many producers feel they could cast Gigi in a film, and they would have no stigma to it.

"But there would be a stigma if the billboards said, 'Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kendall Jenner.' That just doesn't work.
"Gigi is the darling, and Kendall has a lot more proving to do because in many producers eyes they have a lot more to lose by casting Kendall in anything."

It's been suggested Gigi, 20, has a more "exotic" appearance, which makes her an attractive proposition for movie studios, while Kendall is thought to have some family-related "baggage".

Kim and Kanye, 37, tied the knot in Florence, Italy, at Forte di Belvedere on May 24, but spent most of the week leading up to the nuptials in the City of Light.
Kim also shared an image of the bachelorette crew, looking high fashion in front of the lit-up Eiffel tower, writing, "Best Paris memories from last year."
The Keeping Up with the Kardashian star also posted photos from her brunch at designer Valentino Garavani's 17th century residence outside Paris on May 23.
The couple are set to exchange vows once more at the Eiffel Tower on Sunday, May 24.
The rapper rented out the historic structure, and the 58 Tour Eiffel restaurant is booked for a private event.

She told Access Hollywood: "I think there are limits and there are boundaries, for sure. I think that you have to know the difference. She did something that made her feel better about herself and that's kind of where you have to draw the line, and she knows that ... she doesn't have a desire to do anything else.
"I'm totally okay with that because I know that's where it stops for her."
Kim also rubbished claims Kylie is too busy partying with her pals to attend school after she received criticism on social media.
She added: "She talks about this all the time herself - she's always with her friends and having fun and people would question, 'Are you going to school?' She goes to school. She's home-schooled. She has a year left. She goes to school every single day."
Kim made the first move after divorce

The 22-year-old beauty was quick to slam her critics and hit back at one "disgusting" Instagram user for urging her to "work out" and "please stop eating junk food."
The 'Come & Get It' hitmaker responded: "IM IN the business and I could care less about what 'they' or you said I should look like. I don't need to do anything other than love myself, take care of my work, fans, family and friends...And I do work out. It's not your place to tell anyone what they should or should not do."

The insider added: "Kylie is just trying to do her own thing right now and develop a brand for herself that will outlast Kendall's minute of fame."
