The 21-year-old singer was put in a chokehold by security after he tried to gain admission to the Californian music festival during Drake's performance on Sunday but was stopped from entering through the artists' entrance because the area was full, TMZ reports.
The 'Believe' hitmaker showed his wristband, which should have granted access, but guards wouldn't let him in, even after Justin explained he was a personal guest of Drake and he would be "bombarded" by fans if he stood in the public area.

One staff member relented and started to let the singer and his entourage in, but a security member reportedly came up from behind and put him in a chokehold before he was ordered to leave the festival.
However, sources close to the 'Beauty and a Beat' star insisted Justin left the site voluntarily and is now considering taking legal action against the security staff.

Despite the abrupt ending to his weekend, Justin had seemed to be having a good time at the festival on Saturday, where he was seen partying with pals including Chris Brown, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, and checked out sets from artists including Jack White and FKA twigs.

The 68-year-old star admits his daughters haven't listened to his warning and he ended up in a "battle" with Sophia's current boyfriend when they met for the first time.
He recalled in an interview with Britain's OK! magazine: "I've finally met Sophia's first boyfriend. He's 18.

"We shook hands and I said, 'No, you've got to learn to squeeze harder than that pal.' We got into a hand-squeezing battle."
Despite his celebrity status, the 'Rocky' star's daughters are embarrassed to be seen with him and don't even like him dropping them off at school.
Asked if he is an embarrassing dad, he admitted: "Very! If I'm within a mile of them it's like, 'Dad, can you please wear a disguise?' I say, 'Can I drop you off at school?' They say, 'No, we're going to take the bus.'
"Everyone at their school is happy to see me but them.
"But it happens with celebrity parents. I'm going to go dressed as Michael Douglas next time."

A source said: "Patrick asked Miley if she wanted to come with him, but she said she wasn't interested. She's putting her trust in him not to do anything silly or compromising while he's there having a good time with his bros.
"He realised what predicament he got himself into in Cabo, and now knows he's got to be smarter about being in a high-profile relationship."

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old singer is believed to have been "punishing" her other half, after he was photographed getting close to his ex-girlfriend, by refusing to be intimate with him.
Another insider added to HollywoodLife.com: "One thing she did to punish him was withhold sex from him.

And Calvin is believed to be worried that he will become the subject of a "revenge" song written by the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker, who has previously dated the likes of Harry Styles, John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal.
The source added: "[He] doesn't want to join the ranks of Swift refugee boyfriends who've been humiliated by one of her revenge songs."
